opportunity for growth and self-fulfillment

join our cheerful team!

KBC Group is a leading European financial group with a focus on providing bank-insurance products and services to retail, private banking, SME and mid-cap clients, in our core countries: Belgium, Czechia, Slovakia, Hungary and Bulgaria.

IT Management decided on a nearshore HR strategy based on 3 locations: the core internal workforce is based in Belgium, Czech Republic and in Hungary. Therefore not only our services are international, but also our teams.

Our responsibilities range from day-to-day operation to application development and its operation.

We are constantly expanding the Hungarian side of the team, which is why we are looking for enthusiastic, motivated new team members with junior, medior or possibly senior work experience.

About the team

Our team is part of the ORT Delivery to business department and provides services to the delivery teams that develop KBC apps. The team consists of Software Engineers (Dev) that work closely together with the System Engineers (Ops) located in another team. The 6 DEV engineers manage our Pallas framework. This framework is Java / Spring boot based and consists of libraries, reusable components, archetypes, a CI/CD pipeline and some runtime services. They also provide extensive Confluence documentation and support. The 5 OPS engineers in the other team are responsible for managing and maintaining our on prem cloud environment, BlueCAP, based on Kubernetes/OpenShift. All this should enable the KBC delivery teams to deliver secure software in an efficient way.

About the job

Together with your fellow developers you continue to build the Pallas framework. Pallas is not only kept up-to-date, but the growing group of users also constantly ask for additional functionalities. The job consists of new development, bug fixing and maintenance, writing and updating documentation. There is also a rotation system to answer questions of less experienced delivery developers.

It is important to note that in this position you will develop less yourself and rather make modifications and improvements to our very mature framework, combined with giving support to application developers (writing documentation, creating quick starts, answering questions).

You will be working in a strong team, consisting of senior and strong medior profiles. There is intensive collaboration within the team, both with the other software engineers and with the OPS people, the Product Owner, System Architect and Scrum Master. You will be supported by an experienced mentor who will make sure that you can start working on your first tickets as soon as possible.

  • You can make sure your future career is steady within our company.
  • Life-long learning and plenty of opportunities to challenge yourself.
