KBC Group provides banking services in 5 European countries.
The international IT solutions of the banking group, covering several European countries, takes place with Hungarian and Belgian colleagues in Hungary and Belgium, therefore not only our services are international, but also our teams.
Our responsibilities focus on the day-to-day operations and everything related to keeping the systems running stable and cost efficient.
We are constantly expanding the Hungarian side of the team, which is why we are looking for enthusiastic, motivated new employees with medior or possibly senior work experience in supporting systems.
Our Data and Services train is building and hosting a big data platform.
The platform is also used for our inhouse AI solutions based on Amazon bedrock.
We need you to help maintain the new platform on AWS.
Make sure the platform remains stable and cost efficient.
You will need to build and maintain the monitoring and dashboards.
You will also be the first line of contact for our users in case of issues.
You will do this in collaboration with the build teams on the train, who will provide procedures, knowledge transfers and help you with the more complex issues resolution.

- You help maintain the big data cloud platform and thus ensure the platform runs stable and cost efficient.
- You will be responsible for solving the first and second line issues.
- You will help the build team with solving the more complex level 3 issues.
- You identify reoccurring issues, write procedures on handling them and automate their resolution as much as possible.
- You build and maintain our monitoring and dashboards.
- You are keeping our systems running during off office hours, by participating in the on call rotation a few weeks per year.
- You will be receiving training and handovers from the build teams so your knowledge grows and stays up to date with the platform development. This also includes AWS technology used by the platform.
What we expect from You:
- You have strong knowledge of Python and knowledge of JSON, YAML, Bash and Linux OS or are willing to learn scripting languages that are demanded for the job.
- You have worked in support roles before and have a passion about automating.
- You have experience in AWS services, Big Data and technologies such as: Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes.
- You are fascinated by the world of Big Data and want to learn new tools and technologies. Specialist literature helps you keep abreast of technology trends, so you feel perfectly at home in a rapidly changing world.
- Your verbal and written skills in English are excellent. You can communicate easily with colleagues in different parts of our organization.
- You are self-sufficient. In addition to a training program, you will acquire knowledge on the job, taking the initiative to look for knowledge and answers.
- Nice to have but not needed is experience with Open Source technologies such as: Airflow, Concourse, Spark, Grafana and Prometheus.
- Nice to have but not needed is experience with AI and/or AWS bedrock.
- Prior knowledge of banking and insurance products is not essential, but would certainly be of added value.
- After sending your CV in English, expect a three-round interview process, one online with our local recruiter, one online in English with the Belgian team leader, and the final round is in person at our office in Budapest (in Hungarian) to get to know each other better.
- An efficient selection process is important for both of us, so we try to make it as fast as possible, and even if you are not selected we will give you a detailed feedback.
