In our data centres in Belgium, Hungary, and the cloud, we host the critical applications that support our banking and insurance activities by registering millions of transactions at light speed every day. We do this on our own Mainframe, on our own extensive private cloud, and in the public cloud (AWS, Azure), on various standard platforms (Windows, Linux and IBM z/OS) as well as cloud-native technologies (such as Hadoop, Kubernetes, Docker or others).

 

The Control Tower is responsible for operational monitoring and management of infrastructure and business applications on mainframe, Open systems and Cloud.

Many of our business applications need to be available 24*7, which is why the Control Tower works in a shift system onsite.

 

What your job will be:

  • You are involved in the day-to-day operational management of mainframe and open systems.
  • You work closely together with our Business, IT colleagues and Service Delivery Owners.
  • You dive into the details of an incident to find out if we can remediate it immediately, or if we have to seek for a solution together with the DevOps teams. You’re an expert at solving incidents and ensuring we have zero downtime.
  • Based on our reporting you initiate problems out of recurrent incidents.

What we expect from You:

  • You are prepared to work in a fully continuous shift regime onsite. ( 3 shifts after the trial period covering 24/7 )
  • You keep calm during difficult situations.
  • You have a bachelor’s or master’s degree.
  • You’re looking forward to improve your knowledge of IT (Mainframe & Open systems), or to acquire it.
  • You’re happy to go exploring and finding ways to involve other people in new stories. Automating a repetitive job, immersing yourself in new material, brainstorming with your colleagues about different ways of doing things, testing out a new technology ... You’ll be at home in this job if you enjoy these tasks.
  • You enjoy working as part of a team. Smooth communication is an important aspect of this, therefore it’s important that you are fluent in English (both written and verbal)
  • You are eager to learn and absorb new technology quickly. You have the energy and talent to deep dive into new material, and to build up expertise in it.
  • You have the interest and a strong analytical mind to quickly match the IT components to the underlying business process.
  • You are result driven and takes initiative to gets things done.

 

 

What you can expect during the recruitment process:

  • After sending your CV in English, expect a three-round interview process, one online with our local recruiter,  one online in English with the Belgian team leader, and the final round is in person at our office in Budapest (in Hungarian) to get to know each other better.
  • An efficient selection process is important for both of us, so we try to make it as fast as possible, and even if you are not selected we will give you a detailed feedback.
