KBC Bank, the parent company of the Hungarian K&H Bank, provides banking services in 5 European countries. The international IT solutions of the banking group, covering several European countries, takes place with Hungarian and Belgian colleagues in Hungary and Belgium, therefore not only our services are international, but also our teams. Our responsibilities range from day-to-day operation to application development and its operation. We are constantly expanding the Hungarian side of the team, which is why we are looking for enthusiastic, motivated new employees with junior, medior or possibly senior work experience.

We are looking for a Junior Telecom Engineer with a strong foundation in telecom systems and a passion for automation. The ideal candidate will have experience or interest in python, infrastructure-as-code, Ansible and other automation tools/skills. You will play a key role in supporting our telecommunications infrastructure, ensuring seamless, secure, and high-performance communication systems across the banking and insurance sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in managing and maintaining our telecommunications infrastructure, as part of one of our telecommunications subteams.
• Work with senior engineers to develop and implement automation solutions for routine network tasks, enhancing efficiency and minimizing downtime.
• Monitor network traffic, detect anomalies, and troubleshoot telecom issues to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Be involved in the day-to-day operational work of the team.
• Work on larger projects in the team to improve our services to the company.
• Develop Python scripts to automate tasks and streamline network operations, supporting system integration and performance optimization.
• Collaborate with the broader IT team to ensure secure and reliable communication systems across banking and insurance services.
• Document network configurations, processes, and automation scripts, providing clear technical reports for internal stakeholders.
• Stay informed about emerging trends in telecom and automation within the financial services sector.
• Provide on-call support. 

What we expect from you:

• Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Computer Engineering or a related field.
• Basic understanding of telecom systems and network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, SIP, MPLS, etc.)
• Proficiency in Python for scripting and automation; experience with other scripting languages is a plus.
• Exposure to automation tools such as Ansible.
• Knowledge of system engineering principles, particularly in telecom and IT networks.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to document and present technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.

What you can expect during the recruitment process:

• After sending your CV in English, expect a three-round interview process, one online with our local recruiter,  one online in English with the Belgian team leader, and the final round is in person at our office in Budapest (in Hungarian) to get to know each other better.
