The KBC Services and Infrastructure division (SIN) operates on a nearshore HR strategy across two locations: Belgium and in Hungary. Our services and teams are international, with responsibilities ranging from day-to-day operations to application development and its management.

We are seeking a Networking Engineer who has a foundation in networking systems and an eagerness to grow in areas like scripting, Linux administration, and automation. This is an entry-level role designed for candidates who are keen to learn and develop their skills with the support of a collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing and maintaining our telecommunications infrastructure, as part of  a collaborative team.
  • Work alongside senior engineers to develop and implement automation solutions for routine network tasks, improving efficiency and minimizing downtime.
  • Monitor network traffic, detect anomalies, and troubleshoot telecom issues under guidance of senior colleagues to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Participate in day-to-day operational activities to gain hands-on networking experience.
  • Contribute to team projects aimed at enhancing services for the company.
  • Learn to develop and use Python scripts to automate tasks and improve system operations.
  • Document network configurations, processes, and automation tasks, with guidance on preparing clear technical reports.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of telecom systems and network protocols (e.g. TCP/IP, DNS, IP routing).
  • Interest in scripting and automation (prior knowledge of Python is a plus but not mandatory).
  • Familiarity with Linux systems is preferred; willingness to learn and grow in this area is essential.
  • Knowledge of basic system engineering principles, with a desire to expand expertise in telecom and IT networks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to learn how to present technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.

 

What you can expect during the recruitment process:

  • After sending your CV in English, expect a three-round interview process, one online with our local recruiter,  one online in English with the Belgian team leader, and the final round is in person at our office in Budapest (in Hungarian) to get to know each other better.
  • An efficient selection process is important for both of us, so we try to make it as fast as possible, and even if you are not selected we will give you a detailed feedback.
