The KBC Services and Infrastructure division (SIN) decided on a nearshore HR strategy based on 2 locations: the core internal workforce is based in Belgium and in Hungary. Therefore not only our services are international, but also our teams.

For a digital leader like KBC, it is crucial that our data centers run smoothly and safely. Around the clock. Both our customers and our employees count on this. As a Network Engineer / System Engineer you play an important role in this.
We have data centers in Hungary (Törökbalint and Baracska) and Belgium (Mechelen and Leuven). An international team of experts ensures that these four data centers work optimally every day:
Our Group Datacenter Network Team focuses on switching & routing, DDI and network management.
Our Group Datacenter Network Security Team is responsible for firewalling, load balancing and secure web gateways.
As both teams work closely together, you come into contact with all these aspects.
Since you are an expert on DNS, DHCP and IPAM, your take care of the management of our DDI environment on a daily basis.
For network management tools your experience and competencies are expected, especially in some of SNMP, NetFlow, Syslog, NTP and AAA technologies.
Next to these you also work on performance analysis and troubleshooting around end-to-end application dataflows. You contribute to the daily management of components, and you are also involved in numerous projects.
What your job will be:
- Together with business stakeholders (your internal customers), IT architects and system engineers from other teams, you play an important role in infrastructure and security projects. Your contribution ranges from analysis and design to implementation and testing.
- You are involved in the day-to-day management of various telecommunication and network management components. Think of setup, configuration, capacity management, following up on new versions or functionalities, resolving security risks or integrating components into our current infrastructure.
- You will explore new technological possibilities. Is there an opportunity to improve or automate the way we work? You spotted it.
- You analyze problems so that incidents are solved and we continuously improve our domain.
- Together with your colleagues, you work in a rotational role to provide support outside office hours.
- Gradually you take on more responsibility, for example more coordinating tasks.

What we expect from you:
- You have a bachelor's or master's degree in IT or a number of years of relevant experience.

- You have in depth knowledge or experience with:
- Infoblox & DNS brokers,
- DNS anycast, DNSSEC,
- Network devices (Cisco certifications is a plus)
- DNS, DHCP, IPAM:
- Network monitoring tooling.
- Troubleshooting (traffic capturing and analyses including)
- Ideally, you are also well acquainted with more than one of these topics:
- Firewalling, load balancing, DMZ setup en DDOS protection.
- Routing & switching, basic networking services at the level of a large enterprise.
- Scripting (Ansible, Python, Perl, Java)
- Authentication and authorization mechanisms and frameworks.
